Howdy, hoping I could get some advice on a few problems I’ve been having. Had the Purple Urkle for a few months vegging and she has had a deficiency appearing between the leaf veins starting as red burn looking stripes. Overall smaller leaves, light yellow color and just unhealthy.
I can see something appearing on one of the Girl Scout Cookies as well looks very similar. The third plant (Also GSC) hasn’t been starting well, its been sluggish, yellowing, and declining. A few of the bottom fan leaves have dark purpling. PH runoff is 6.2 for the Urkle, should I get a soil truncheon or is runoff adequate?
Pot Size-7 and 5 gallon fabric pots
Soil- Roots Organic for Urkle and GSC 1, Manna Mix for GSC 2
Water- Phd to 5.9-6.3, RO, usually a gallon for the Urkle half or less for the other two. I add Cal/mag every other watering, should it be every time?
Feeding- Haven’t started feeding anything, only just got everything together and now just trying to figure the best feeding schedule to learn the strains and dial in the tent. List is in other thread.
Temps- 72-82 day, 68-74 night
Lighting- LED 22 inches from tallest cola (18 inches is the sweet spot)
18 on/6 off cycle
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Bump. Any ideas? Thought it might be phosphorus so I gave a small amount (think was 4 mL a gallon) along with usual cal mag. Didn’t help, problems progressing, I’d like to save the Urkle if I can. I’m thinking that since ph runoff is 6.2 it’s possible I just need to have my feeding schedule well in hand. I assumed Roots organic would be good throughout the veg state but I think it’s just been vegging too long and has eaten everything up.
Plants are not uptaking enough Mg and other nutes as well. In my experience General Organics Cal/Mag drops my ph from 8+ to below 4 if given the directed dose. It smells like pure vineger. More light would likely help. I’ll guess your getting plenty of fresh air?
Glad you brought this up I’ve been wanting and would love to hear from Kyle on this Ca/Mg matter. Here’s pics of my GSCs which are not optimal but check out the Afgan Kush on next post which gets the exact same nutes.
Here’s the AKs which are fine
Go to the shop for expert advice. They specialise in this crop and have the right products available. Properly prepared fertilizer contains enough potassium.Maybe it is some nutrient deficiency…
WOW Foam, those are some FINE plants you’ve got there!! They look really nice and healthy to me anyway
Tonyadonis – just exactly how many months have you had this plant vegging?
I want to say around November or December, I’ve been trimming pretty hard to keep it manageable until the GSC could catch up which is why it definitely doesn’t look so old. Also, think I figured out the problem. My ph meter is telling me my RO water is at a ph of 12 even after adding ph up and down so definitely need a new ph meter. Who knows how long it’s been on the fritz. Definitely explains the twisted and clawing leaves. Won’t calibrate either. Oakton Ph, one year and 8 months of accurate ph testing for 60 bucks. Not bad for the cheapest option. GSC2 is finally perking up as well.
Thanks Mom -wish the GSC had more color and less droop
oh yeah, I totally understand!! but your ak’s – OMG the color on them coming off my screen is sooo GORGEOUS that it makes me want to jump right into those girls!! hell, if you are a newbie like me you sure seem to be doing ALOT BETTER but then I had to start off with clones that were not the best until I got some seeds…..keep up the good work I’m curious to see how much you can get off those plants. I’m not familiar with grams vs ounces since I’ve never sold or dealt anything I never measured my own …..all I know is my last grow resulted in inferior results, nothin like yours…I have plant envy!! LMAO
I think it’s definitely a pH issue.
Thanks for the replies to my questions! Last two:
1. How many weeks should I shoot for with the Girl Scout Cookies from B&R? Any tips on it?
2. Do I need both the soluble seaweed and NN Potassium? If so when should I be using the SS?
Platinum Girls Scouts from Buds and Roses will go 60-65 days.
You won’t need the Natures Nectar Potassium if you’re using the soluable seaweed which is a superior source of nutrition…:-)
What are the special tips on growing GSC. I have 7 strains and if you treat this plant like the others, it will be near dead at week 4. 1st) it tells me Calmg then it says Phosphorus. I Guess she has special needs ?
I’ve not seen this issue with my Vegamatrix Veganic Nutrients. I think she’s just an all round’ heavy feeder…:-)
