If your camera has custom settings, try incandescent or sephia. Takes the orange right out…:-)
Thanks Kyle I will try sepia setting next time! Here’s my sour grape which has been topped once….my questions is….all her branches have 2 sets of leaves plus the last set at the top or end of each leaf……my question is should I clone each branch and grow them all at once?

I’m not sure what you’ve asked…what exactly do you want to do with the tops if you clone them?
why grow them of course!!! I just want to grow more everyday, LOL, how do I “flush” the nutes out of the soil and my plant? I have this one and she’s basically done so how much water and how often do I have to flush at the end ?
I just checked my girl in flower and I think she’s done…today would be the beg of week # 9, her trichs are standing up and almost all white just not completely filled out at the ends ….I will try to get a good pic of her today so y’all can tell me if she’s done…

Looks nice, but from this pic I would be able to tell if it’s “finished” or not.
I like to use a magnifying glass to really look at the trichomes. If I have a difficult time telling or steady the magnifying glass, I keep a piece of black construction paper in the garden and will take 3 very small clips off a bud leaf I would trim anyways (I don’t trip over this as I know I’ll be cuttin the whole thing in a matter of few days). I set 4-6 diff clips on the black paper with a light over em and look for the milky cloud trichomes, if you can see the black construction paper and light penetrate through the trichome and they aren’t fully developed (fully milky white trichomes will not be see-thru on a dark surface) and may worth waiting a bit 🙂
Kyle – I’m sorry the color isn’t right in the photo, I used the “sepia” setting and it came out black and white, LOL
and – vindiesel – I have one of those magnifying visors with 3 diff levels and they are awesome! It gives you a super closeup while freeing up your hands at the same time.

DAMN! This is what I found on my Lemon Cross today….she is starting week #9 and I was going to turn the lights out today and cut her down tomorrow and then I see some of her leaves looking like this?? NOW WHAT? AARRGGH! I almost made it thru flower, so what is it guys….root rot? spider mites?? Can I just ignore these leaves, turn out the light and cut her down after she sits in the dark for 24 hours or do I need to cut her down quick??
I know you will help me save my 1 plant that made it thru flower…now I REALLY see why everyone said to grow MORE than you will need as you will not get all seeds or clones to grow successfully….
I wouldn’t trip Momma, some yellowing should be natural for week 9 – I think your girls are just almost done and exhausting the nutrients they’ve had, anyone correct if I’m mistaken but yellowing during the last few days is no big deal and a natural part of the cycle.
On the subject of a “ripe for harvest trichome”
Cervantes’ book I believe says there is a “72-Hour Window” in which a trichome turns from clear-milky-amber.
Ive always been skeptical of this – any experts on here confirm/counter the 72-hour theory?
OK, I hope your right Vin, I really need this plant to survive…it’s alot harder than it looks to grow this stuff,….not like it was back in the 70’s when you just planted the seeds and they grew practically anywhere, LOL,

Hi Momma, Ive been a little under the weather lately but im back. Great advice Vin Diesel, Momma from the pic above you still have a few weeks or so. I would try to keep the mites at bay by picking off the most infested leafs and wash off some of the living leafs with a wet rag with a little neem or dish soap on them. If you could keep them going a few more days maybe a week they could plump up and get more potent. When you start over try to keep your grow room shiny and clean, and you might want to consider in the future using a natural pest spray weekly. I.P.M. Google search Integrated Pest Management

AAAAWW, Thanks Braveheart, I REALLY needed that as I was beginning to feel like I can’t do this. I can handle the day to day details but the heavy cleaning & spraying are hard for me to do and I have only my Hubby to help me but I will keep om trying. He will tear down my room and we will clean it out tomorrow so hopefully I can get a handle on these damn spidermites!!
well, I lost my hubby’s help today as he had to work so I will spray my girls and do what I can to find someone to help me…..there’s only 1 other person I can ask and I think he can help me so we shall see what happens….
Here is one of my sour grape seedlings….can anyone tell me what is that damage from on their leaves? I’ve been told it was spider mites but at only a week since they’ve been planted in cups I think it’s too soon to spray them…or is it?

If you can find JUDO that would help greatly. It’s super mild and transpires through the leaf so you don’t have to spray the bottom. It will stay on the leaf for around a week I think. so that it kills the hatching eggs also. 2 times of spraying once a week works every time. The only downfall it’s retails at the hydro store around 300 so I’d either check online or get samples. I wouldn’t spray flowers though. Especially ones mamma plans to smoke. GOOD LUCK! Your plants look kick ass BTW!
well thanks GreenDream ! I don’t have any flowers to worry about just these few plants so I will stick with the Neem oil etc recipe and spray the others again today…

Oh for sure momma, if the roots are at least 3 days just to be safe established in a cup they will be fine spraying with neem oil, hope your doing well Momma, did you get a good bug bomb and bomb that room, we have to finds the source of where your mites are coming from. Need to drop World War III in there to get rid of them mites momma ~~~;-D
I’m hoping I have them under control for now, I think they might have gotten into my last crop because I used the bamboo stakes over without cleaning them good enough is all I can figure…I think I need to soak my bamboo stakes in clorox or something to kill off any mites in them, or else I just will buy all new stakes to be sure….I cleaned the room best as I can and after spraying the taller plants 2 times I don’t see anymore but will be faithful about when I spray and I’m going to do my best to remember to keep spraying.
I am starting week 2 day # 12 of vegging for 4 of my girls….I’ve got them at between 14-16″ away from my 600 watt and want to put them closer but I’m not sure of the distance to keep them at and could use some advice. On my last or 2nd attempt at growing I had the light down to about 12″ away at the end when they were in flower. Can I lower the light closer than 12″ away or should I keep it at 18″ away….need some help please guys n gals, thanks!
Just moved my 4 sour grape seedlings under the 600 watt at 24″ away…I will move them closer each day until they get to 18″ away unless I should go closer? Looks like, due to circumstances beyond my control, this will be my last grow….too bad and it’s only my 3rd attempt but I always say “third time’s the charm” so now I have to prove it…..so all you PRO’S out there, please help me make this last grow my BEST!
Well I found out that just because I live within 25 miles of a dispensary that once I renew my card I will not be allowed to GROW MY OWN MEDICAL MARIJUANA AND HAVE TO BUY FROM A DISPENSARY!!!…….I’m so pissed off right now!! …who knows what kind of chemicals could be left in it if they didn’t flush or didn’t flush correctly…
I found out yesterday that there are a BUNCH of lawsuits fighting this 25 mile rule so I will just hang on to my stuff and hope the lawyers win a change in the law…I think it will happen, it’s just a matter of time now….
I finally got a good look when I was able to catch a bug in my room and it’s NOT spidermites, YEAH!! but it is thrips and they sit on top of the leaf to eat which is where I caught this one and where I have been seeing them all this time! I was killing or seeing one almost every day but now I have been faithfully spraying with Neem Oil & Karanja Oil. I fully expect to see NO BUGS today when I go check them out later…. Oh yeah, how do you get rid of Thrips you say?…why, Neem Oil, of course 😎
Here’s a look into my vegging room – up front you can see the 4 sour grape seedlings in 1 GAL pots. They are on a great wooden shoe rack that I use in my garden, it helps to use this rack when I need to raise a pot higher or close to the light. The 2 back plants are in 5 GAL buckets….these plants are all in happy frog potting soil under one 600watt hps light which is never turned off. They are all fed plain or “clean” R.O water with a little Superthrive for the seedlings.
Today is the start of Week 2 Day 2 vegging….. 😮 pics didn’t post again, idk why

I am on week2 Day 4 of vegging so I guess I really need to start adding my G. O. nutes at their lowest levels just to be safe and can I lower my 600watt light to less than 16″ ? ANY SUGGESTIONS on feeding what and when would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!! I need some guidance here from you pros cuz I’m flyin blind, so to speak…..I’ve always had trouble with adding nutes but I have to kick it up a notch and get better results this time!!!

Kyle – you told Noodle to saturate everytime you water…someone else told me to water just the top and let gravity do the work, so that is wrong then? what you’re saying is I need to water enough that a slight amount comes out? Is that what you mean? Then wait 3-5 days before watering again?
I used my moisture meter last time and never watered until they got below 3.0 and this time I’m doing that but mainly going by how heavy the pot is and water only when it’s light, right?
As for the light….is 16-18″ optimal? if not, how long can it go? I think I had it down to 10″ away last time……

they look happy to me, I’d keep the 600 where its at for a week/2 let them get used to it before I lower it to 12 inches…everyone has there own style as far as fresh transplant..when i first put my babies in their final pot..i give them just enough water around the transplant hole til the water comes out the 1st cpl waterings…give them a chance to grab the new soil..then about the 3rd watering I drench the pot..then off to the races…as far an nute..i assume you were just giving them water before?? Id say it s ok to start at about 5ml/ or half the recommended dose for a couple waterings as well..then go full nute and lower the light to 12 inches..keep an eye on them for stress and burn..if you have good air movement , and your climate is ok..youre good..

well thanks for answering guys, I was wondering where everyone was at too!! I finally got the screen up over my vent holes but that slowed down the air movement so I added another fan inside to compensate for that…don’t want it getting over 79
Kloneking – I will start with the nutes today and I have soooo much air moving in there it should be fine….3 fans just in the veggin room plus 2 more pushing the fresh air into the vegging room : ) THANKS for the advice!!
High Momma, for the Thrips & other bugs a product like AzaMax or AzaSol are great to use as a soil drench & foliage spray. When used as a soil drench both products get in the plant systemically which helps kill Mites, Thrips & other bugs from laying eggs plus also if the bugs eat the plant AzaSol stops the insect growing so they can lay eggs & die. Your kid are coming along nicely I can help with the OG Tea as I just order a bunch & also got Web Star.

It popped up above the others after giving it the nutes so they like it and WANT IT!! I am using General Organics this time, FYI
Well I just got the word that I have to quit growing as I live within 25 miles of a dispensary, apparently in AZ you have no choice to grow your own medicine, yet……i’m told there are a BUNCH of lawsuits already being filed that challenge the 25 mile rule so hopefully that will get changed. I will put away my grow light and use the nutes on my backyard plants ………..but JUST until the law is changed cuz I liked trying to grow my own meds…I’m just not any good at it yet, LOL, I’m so upset about having to get rid of my garden that I’ve been crying today, it’s just so frustrating!!
Momma so sorry to hear the bad news!:( did the dispensary help right the bill so they can get more business? Your girl look good for just starting & the more you grow the better you will get, I know as I’ve only been growing for 3 years the first year was the toughest as you just don’t know what to expect. I have massive yields now with some of the best Med’s around. I have some pictures on dank den, my computer broke or I’d post some for you to Checkout. I’m using my I-phone now & it a pain as I’m old, the screen is to small for my eye!:)

I’m so sorry to hear that Mamma Kush. I hope you all get that law changed soon. This was my first grow as well an I had a lot of problems with spidermites. Just keep researching and reading about cannabis growing, I’m sure you’ll grow a beautiful plant on your next grow. What type of conditions does your law cover in particular does it cover epileptics? Here in Florida all we have is a medical defense law but were working on getting a medical marijuana law on the ballot in 2014. Well I hope you get the chance to grow again Mamma Kush it’s been a very rewarding experience and you definitely learn a bunch through the whole process. See you later. 🙂
Oh they’ll win…it’s definitely unconstitutional to force someone to buy medicine that may not be of any help. It will be easy to prove in court that this law does not serve or protect the people it claims too…:-)
