you should make sure and thoroughly flush the soil and use an enzyme to breakdown any left over root matter etc…yould want to do this several times, and before planting flush with a very light nutrient solution , you can let the soil dry out for a few days, then when you plant, do the same process..make sure and ph 6.0-7.0 to start and then you can lower the ph to 6.0./ 6.5.

im actually doing that right now.. there are pros and cons to reusing soil but if you’re a beginner grower I don’t recommend it but if you’re somewhat experienced and can read your plants and diagnose them than go for it.. Just watch your plants and see how they are responding. you will most likely have to give them a higher ph in your nutrient solution due to the fact that the ph level drops naturally in organic soil.. When I first transplanted mine into the used soil they were struggling and yellowing and just froze up until I raised my ph significantly.. this is why I don’t recommend reusing if you’re a beginner

Yes thank you Trueconnoisseur for the great advise, I’m not totally green to growing I’ve been at it for almost 8 years but only the last 2 or 3 have been dedicated to veganics so fairly new to veganics, I’ve been following the forum for some time and you guys and kyle are so important for the whole veganic movement. Thanks again for the advise and I will keep an eye on what you suggested.

Thanks for the tips kloneking I’m going to run through how I reuse my soil and maybe you can tell me if you see anything else i could be doing. So first off im a huge believer in a good flush at harvest time so i usually flush for a full two weeks and usually get 3 flushes a week, prior to cutting them down i flush with double dose hygrozyme for the first week then plain water for the last week then i let my soil thoroughly dry then i break up the soil and remove any roots that are left i finish my plants in 7 gallon pots and i usually only veg for 2 weeks so my pots are never root bound when im finished, so then after i break it all up it rests again in a huge container where i add granular myco and let it chill till i need it. I have to say everything i have planted in it is really responding well i’m just about to finish my first run with reusing soil and my ladies are healthy as ever, I even started some seeds in it about three weeks ago and there the healthiest starts i’ve ever had. I’m definetly keeping an eye on ph cause i figured that would be the biggest risk. Let me know if you see anything else and thank you guys for responding.

Very informative thread- I think you’ve got it going on now LY79, add some lime, either oyster shell lime or dolomite lime, natural ph adjusters when you add the granular mycos.

Thanks for the tips braveheart, I just read a really good article in HT about R.O.L.S (reused organic living soil) and i have to say i’ve had a few harvest from reusing my manna mix and all my stuff is way more fragrent dank and has increased trich production so i cant recomend using your soil over just make sure you take the correct steps in preparing the soil for the next session. Ill post some examples on this thread soon cause a picture is worth a thousand words right.
