Yes, it will have a marginal effect on the life of your bulb. I always suggest purchasing multiple bulbs with the appropriate wattage.
Also, if your adjustable allows dimming while the lamp is on, it’s best to fire the bulb at it’s stated wattage. then turn it down once it comes to full brightness.
And, I never recommend using the super lumens setting. It just doesn’t seem safe to me…:-)
